VHS hours & locations
Locations
The VHS offices, library, and a small museum store are located in the Vermont History Center at 60 Washington Street (Route 302), Barre, in a historic building which was originally the Spaulding School, built in 1892.
The Vermont History Museum is located on the first floor of the Pavilion Building at 109 State Street next door to the Vermont State House in Montpelier.

Regular hours
Museum and bookstore (Pavilion Building in Montpelier, next to the State House)
Museum and bookstore hours:
- Tuesday—Saturday, 10:00 am-4:00 pm
- Closed state and federal holidays; check the VHS Calendar or call (802) 828-2180 for specific dates.
Admission:
- $12.00 families
- $5.00 adults, 18-61 years old
- $3.00 students, children 6-17 years old, and seniors 62 and older
- Children under six free
- Pre-scheduled school groups and chaperones free (including home study families)
Library and store (Vermont History Center in Barre):
Library hours:
- Tuesday—Friday, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
- Wednesdays until 8:00 pm
- Second Saturday of each month, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
- Closed state and federal holidays; check the VHS Calendar for specific dates.
Research fee:
- $5.00 per person, per day; VHS members and students free.
Store hours:
- Tuesday—Friday, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
