your letter was rec'd with much joy but a long time ago. The seasons why I have not written I have been very sick & not able to sit up but to day I am better & feel able to write & I hope I shall get better now for I have been sick a long time I wrote to Clem A long time ago but he has not answered it yet I sent for some money perhaps he has written and the letter is lost I have written again to day in hopes to find out about it Theals, Stowe & Edd Cudworth was here yesterday to see me they said he had sent the money if so it is probably lost My Capt came to see me this morning I was sitting in the door he came up & inquired for me. I was so poor that he did not know me I am redused to 128 lbs nothing but a shadow I have not herd from father since I was on the paninsula I have wrote to him but he does not write to me & it is always the case that I have to wate for him two or three months to write one letter to me & I have to write three & four letters to get that one & I am getting sick of it & shall not write to him untill he does to me you said that Cousen Moses was in the 12th Regt. Co. E. but he is not My respects to all good nights
